Greetings Sista's

Greetings My Sisters, and Fellas,
I have joined the ranks of those who are desperately in Love with their Sisterlocks. I begin by giving much thanks to my dear friend, though we have never met, Blaqkofi. You are my inspiration. Thank you so much for all you have contributed to us newbies, as you so carefully and maticulously documented your journey. You are Beautiful inside and out. (Blaqkofi's blog ) I also want to thank my Wonderful Husband, Rafael, for all of his support and Loving Kindness as I embarked upon this new journey of self discovery.

Greetings Friends, Family and my Sista's,
Life has been very busy and I've not had a chance to post in a while. Here is my 20 Month update. I am still very much in Love with my sisterlocs. As time passes, and my locks mature and grow, it's so much fun taking note of subtle changes, such as my locks bouncing against the side of my face as I turn my head, or feeling my locks touching further distances on my neck and back. I often find myself saying, "oh there's something I haven't experienced before". My hair is growing so fast that I as well as my co-workers are amazed. They are enjoying the journey as much as I am. I find myself having to explain the sisterloc process on a daily basis.
My hubby and I recently went to the beach, and I must say, the freedom was bliss. No worrying about what to do to my hair. I was ready for anything, thanks to the versatility of sisterlocs.
Much thanks to all of my Sista's on this journey with me. The advice and insight is inspiring. Below are some pix of my hair just after washing, as well as on the beach. Enjoy the pix and hola.
Peace and Blessings,
Redrose

Greeting Family,
It has been a while since I last posted. I am Loving my locks more and more each day. It is amazing how much my hair has thickened and grown since I got locks 16 months ago. I still enjoy wearing them curled at this stage.

1 Year Anniversary

1 Year Anniversary - Yeaaahhhh! My, how time did fly.

Since I don't have to braid and band anymore, I now wash my hair in the shower. The above pic's were taken just out of the shower and my wonderful hubby snapped away as I had a ball striking different poses.
I would like to share a Beautiful piece that Choosen Vessel posted on her site. Thank you so much for sharing Choosen Vessel.

"My Song" by Carole

Denver's Premier Loctician Carole Pearson wrote a piece called "My Song" that speaks on the struggles we face in our society regarding natural hair. It is a powerful and inspirational piece that I wanted to share with you all.
Please take the time to watch the video, you will be blessed. As Carole says in "My Song" just remember YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL JUST AS YOU ARE!

Thank you Carole for sharing your heart with all of us!

8 Months

My goodness how time flies. Thought I'd better take some pics before the 8Th month slips away. I also just removed the soft spike curlers that I put in last night.

(Last Night)
My hair has just been retightened; now it's time to roll. I love these soft spike rollers, called Lockloops. They give me a tight long lasting (about a week) curl. (I ordered them, at a very reasonable price at http://www.lockloops.com/index.html ) I moisten my hair with a mist spray, then roll and place the pointed end into the hole on the other end.

7 Months Locked

7 Months Locked

I fall more in love with my locks with each passing day. The freedom from chemicals, heat, and greasy hair is bliss. And most of all there is such little effort and such wonderful results. I wash my hair every 2 weeks with Avalon Clarifying shampoo, mixed with Sisterlock shampoo. The Sisterlock shampoo used alone, although diluted, left my scalp very dry and itchy. I get much better results now that I'm mixing the two together. After washing I roll with soft spike rollers. They are very comfortable to sleep in and they create great, long lasting curls. Needless to say "I Love My Sisterlocks"!!!
